Appearances of Wildflowers
During my recent rewatch of Sleepy Hollow I noticed a reoccurring design featured in the clothing and other belongings shared by the two most important women in Constable Crane's life: His mother and Katrina.
Lady Crane and Young Ichabod.
The similar image contained in the fabric of their make is that of a small group of flowers. They almost appear to be wildflowers, like the ones young Ichabod gives his mother in his dream, and those that grow from the hearth of Katrina's childhood cottage.
Detail on Lady Crane's dress.
A painting of young Katrina depicts her holding a bouquet of white flowers.
White flowers in the pattern of Katrina's bedroom wallpaper/painting.
Katrina's white floral bracelet.
White floral hairpins.
I am left to wonder if this is subconsciously meant to tie the two, a matter of witchcraft, or perhaps just happenstance.
